Scaena Corpus - Mann und Puppe nehmen Maß
From 14 years, duration approx. 45 min
Body images, self-perception, ideals of beauty plague it - the body that wants to be on stage. How to withstand the gaze of the audience? How to deal with your own body? Designed as a puppet-mirror-figure play, an exploration of self-perception and the perception of others begins, a play about body images and ideals, an attempt to break through the expected in order to feel free and complete. A step, a journey, an encouragement.

Jury statement "Fritz Wortelmann" Prize 2023:
"Lukas Schneider and his team invite us on a very personal journey of confrontation with our own body identities. In doing so, Lukas Schneider shows us body conventions, breaks them and relentlessly puts himself in relation to them. Using a deliberate variety of figure-theatrical means, he intelligently creates an aesthetic cosmos that allows us to experience the painfulness of artistic reflection in a sensual way. The production demonstrates a high level of confidence in the chosen form, skilfully alternates between performative elements, scenes with precisely directed figures and cleverly used music and text material, and makes the leap from the puppet to its own body. All of this testifies to the remarkable courage of an individual artist and opens up a biographical enquiry into a larger social context."
