Michelis Brautschau - Micheli's bridal show
"Michelis Brautschau"
Farmer Michel is a bear of a man. Hard-working, wilful and strong in stature. Anyone who provokes him loses every scuffle - and there are plenty of scuffles. Michel is the target of ridicule and scorn in the village. He is ridiculed as Mammihöck because he still lives with his foster mum Anni, even in adulthood. She is very reluctant to let go and spoils Micheli rotten. But one fear remains: As a single man, Michel is at risk of being drafted into the war. So he decides to get married. But the search for the right woman turns out to be more difficult than expected.
‘Michelis Brautschau’ is a fast-paced comedy freely adapted from Jeremias Gotthelf's story ‘Michels Brautschau’. A piece of Emmental full of humour and a fine pinch of irony.
